The sculpture, named “Spoleto 62” reminds the pioneering initiative by Giovanni Carandente, when the most famous sculptors of the time exhibited their works in Spoleto.
Among the great artists involved, there was also Sicilian Nino Franchina with three works of his: “The Wizard” (presently on display in Turin at the City Museum), “Gate” (still visible in front of Carandente’s house in Spoleto) and “Spoleto 62”, in which you can see that tension toward the heights which is a main feature in most of Franchina’s works.
